Follow the tips below to get started with your success focused vision board.

What Is A Vision Board

A Vision Boards is like a mind map that takes you where you want to go with health, fitness, or life goals. It’s a collection of images, words, and phrases that can be collaged on an app, a website, a poster board or a bulletin board. The main image in this blog post is a vision board that I created specifically for this post and it evokes a feeling that is tied to how I achieve my personal goals. This feeling, in fact is the point of a vision board explain the experts.

How Experts Recommend You Make A Vision Board for Success

According to Martha Beck author of Steering by Starlight: The Science and Magic of Finding Your Destiny, your vision board should include images that make you feel positive, joyful, and excited about your goals. Finding images that represent exactly what that means to you may take time but it will help you to avoid creating a vision board that is all bling yet devoid of purpose.

Beck suggests staying away from too many images of material things or what society deems “success”. Instead seek out images that have meaning to you and that represent your unique goals. “When you put your attention on something, you experience more of it. Maybe it is created by a magical force of attention. At the very least, you are going to selectively pay attention to these things once you selectively start to gear yourself to focus on them more” explains Beck.

What Tools Can You Use to Make Vision Boards

I made a few vision boards back in 2011 and the main tool I used was a fashion app with incredible stock images that no longer exists. These days I keep most of my vision boards on Pinterest using a private setting. The pics here includes some of the images on those board. The app I used to create my vision board for this blog post is the paid Canva app.

You can also use apps that are vision board specific. And of course you can go old school and use poster board, torn magazine images and a glue stick. Even a bulletin board with thumbtacked images will work. The main thing is to stay focused on how the board makes you feel. It should inspire you and drive you to take steps towards your goals!

Where To Keep Your Vision Boards

Once you make your boards you can display them in your office, on your social media, or turn them into a screen saver. You can also put them away somewhere safe as long as you focus your attention on what the images make you think and feel. According to John Assaraf author of Having It All, “our job as humans is to hold on to the thoughts of what we want, make it absolutely clear in our minds what we want, and from that we start to invoke one of the greatest laws in the Universe; the law of attraction.
