Core and Glute Strength Training Online
It’s possible to be successful at online personal training using fitness gear from Amazon! Here’s my experience including my pain challenges and goals, my custom workout, and my results.
I work out regularly but started having a lot of pain in my lower back and hips. Squatting was uncomfortable as well as painful, and I felt like I was not getting anywhere with my own training at home.
My Challenge with Personal Training
My schedule varies widely from day to day, and week to week, so doing regular personal training sessions is not only outside of my budget but not feasible for my lifestyle. But Monica offers online personal training so I decided to give it a try.
We started with a private consultation where we discussed my issues and concerns. She helped me figure out I needed to improve my core and glute stability, and she created a personal workout unique for my situation.
My customized workout and gear recommendations
Monica then sent me links to amazon for the fitness gear I would need and we scheduled a brief in-person assessment for her to show me the exercises, make sure I was using correct form, and tweak the plan according to what she saw.
Next, Monica sent me a video of the workout, created just for me, showing how to do the exercises with the gear, and the workout plan. The exercises she gave me were not too difficult or painful but still gave me a good workout. This is what my personal workout looked like:
Core and Glute Strength Workout
Standing side leg raises & rear leg lifts with Pilates ring pressing into hip
Pilates ring inner thigh squeeze bridges
Pilates ring knee in plus opposite leg lower
Gliding disc reverse lunge
Gliding disc side lunge
Gliding disc bridge alternating leg curls
Pilates band chest fly
Pilates band curl to overhead press to side lower
Pilates band leg press to hamstring stretch
My results and thoughts about online personal training
This was extremely easy to follow, especially after the brief session we did, and it helped me to remember everything she had told me in person. She was also available for me to contact at any time through email and text to ask other questions, which was super helpful as well.
After about a week of working on my own, we met for a follow up session to make sure I had the form down and was not having any pain or problems with the exercises. After doing the workout 2-3 times a week for only a couple of weeks I was already able to squat without discomfort or pain and felt so much stronger in my core and glutes.
I thought training online would be more difficult and was skeptical as to whether it would be personalized enough to help me in the areas I needed. After this experience with Monica, I would recommend her program to anyone looking for a more personalized approach to fitness on their own time and in their own home.
